Construction of new build home in East Sussex
Work on this project started with the demolition of the existing 1950’s bungalow. Having cleared the site, our team completed the groundworks and the construction of this traditional Arts and Crafts style home. Both the architectural plans and materials used were chosen and designed by ourselves to sit sympathetically in the property’s country surroundings. The use of handmade clay tiles, bricks and locally felled English oak which was hand crafted on site by our skilled craftsmen to create a traditional oak frame featured heavily in the finished design.
Internally, the home was completed to a high specification with all of the modern amenities that you would expect to see in an executive property of this scale including a detailed lighting design and an energy efficient heating system, air source heat pump and underfloor heating. Amongst modern construction methods and conveniences encapsulated traditional details and design finishes including plaster cornice, wall panelling, herringbone parquet flooring and a bespoke hand crafted kitchen. These details were accompanied by the installation of 4½ bathrooms, utility room, study and full decoration throughout making this a truly one of a kind home.
